Common
Early-Career Roles
There are many different paths to success within our firm. Here are some of the most common opportunities to add value as an early-career professional at NISA:
Client Services Analyst
This role works in a collaborative and team-oriented environment to assist the Client Services team with client reporting for some of the largest institutional investors in the world. Due to NISA’s strong foundational roots in academia, analysts will gain great insight and training on the strategies used within financial markets to develop client-focused solutions.
Investment Strategies Analyst
This role assists with various quantitative analytical functions to develop custom strategies designed to meet client objectives. These analysts work with team members to develop and implement proprietary financial modeling and engineering tools used throughout NISA. Projects frequently involve the use of computer programming, Monte Carlo simulation, regression analysis and statistical analysis of historic financial data.
Operations Analyst
This role works at the intersection of finance and accounting with duties that include maintaining accurate books and records, interacting with custodial banks and trade counterparties, ensuring accurate payments and margin and troubleshooting issues.
Portfolio Management Analyst
This role participates in a two-year program that includes four rotations within our Portfolio Management department. Analysts focus on the development of knowledge, skills and abilities in the following areas: Financial markets and asset classes, market conventions and mechanics, portfolio construction and benchmarks, risk management, performance calculation and attribution and trade valuation and execution.
Internship Program
Learn about careers in asset management during an immersive, project-based summer internship program with NISA. Interns gain insight into careers within Portfolio Management, Client Services, Investment Strategies, Credit Research, Operations or Information Technology. Interns collaborate with employees on projects while learning about full-time job responsibilities.
Summer interns also participate in educational summer seminars with senior team members and weekly lunch-and-learns with previous interns. Social events, such as a Cardinals game and food truck happy hours at our office, highlight our great St. Louis community and provide interns with opportunities to connect with additional NISA employees.
